Friday, 14 June 2013

Alireza Ja’faripur, head of the labor union at the Taban Textile plant in Yazd, said that some 40 workers at the plant have not received their wages “for three consecutive months due to financial problems at the factory.” Ja’faripur added that the number of workers at the plant had whittled down from 320 in “recent years” to 40 at present and warned that if problems at textile factories such as Taban are not resolved, “the avenue to return to work and production will close.” Over 400 workers at the Zhaveh Dam near Sanandaj have not received their wages in more than four months.
