Rouhani declared president with landslide victory; 72.7% turnout

Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said that Sayyed Hassan Rouhani won an absolute majority of the votes in the presidential elections. Out of 36,704,156 votes cast, 458,747 votes were legal. Hassan Rouhani won 18,613,629 votes, for a landslide victory. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf with 6,077,292 votes was number two.  Saeed Jalili with 4,168,946 number three. Mohsen Rezaei, with 3,884,412 votes, became the fourth. Ali Akbar Velayati with 2,268,753 votes took fifth place. Mohammad Gharazi received 446,015 votes. According to the report of Interior Ministry, 50,483,192 were eligible to vote. Voter turnout was 72.7%.
