Rouhani renews allegiance to Khomeini; met Khamenei “to receive necessary guidance”

President-elect Hassan Rouhani renewed his allegiance to the late Imam Khomeini, the founder of Islamic Republic of Iran, by attending a special ceremony at Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum. He will officially take office on August 3rd, after taking the oath of office and receiving a decree from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Rouhani will succeed incumbent Ahmadinejad as the seventh president of Iran. Rouhani also met with Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to “receive the necessary guidance from him.”
