Christian converts imprisoned

Tuesday, 18 June 2013

The revolutionary court in Shiraz imposed a 3.8 year sentence on each of the four Christian converts charged with disseminating Christianity, association with Christian organizations overseas, anti-regime propaganda and harming national security. The four are Mojataba Saeed Alaaladin Hossein, Mohammad Reza Faroutaei, Vahid Hakani and Homayoun Shakhouni. Two other Christian converts, Ms. Fariba Nazamian and her 17-year-old son Nima Shukohaei were each sentenced to two years probation. Since their sentence was handed down, telephone calls between prisoners and their families have been discontinued.
