Arrested during celebrations of Rouhani’s election, beaten and imprisoned

Arash Mohammadi, the student activist who was arrested this past Sunday in Tabriz, began a hunger strike in his prison cell. He was arrested during the celebrations following Rouhani’s election as president. According to the report, agents dressed in civilian clothing violently confronted young people who took to the streets. They beat them, dragged them in the street and arrested them.
