China increases oil imports from Iran

The press release issued by Chinese Customs announced that in May 2013, China’s oil imports from Iran increased by 50% over the preceding month, and totaled 555,000 barrels per day. Economic activists believe that the significant increase in Iranian oil exports to China in May can be attributed to the fact that China in this month received oil shipments that had been in transit and that had been previously acquired.
