The Prosecutor General in Shiraz said that they were waiting to receive a written response from the head of the judiciary in order to execute the sentence. The Prosecutor, Ali Alghasi Mehr, said that the issue of public security in Fars Province was at the top of the agenda and the sentence of amputating the hands of the six would be carried out shortly. The prosecutor later claimed that there were no political prisoners in Shiraz and that those imprisoned were arrested for general crimes and their families are trying to create the impression as if they were political prisoners.
