IRIN sends 2 warships to Russia

Rear Admiral Siyavosh Jareh, Deputy Commander of the of the army’s naval operations, said that the Iranian army (IRIN) Navy flotilla was dispatched to Russia for the first time. Two domestically-made missile launching warships were dispatched to Astrakhan port in the Caspian Sea. Jareh said that one of the purposes of this dispatch is to consolidate friendly ties between Iran and Russia (IRIN is responsible for the security of the Caspian Sea, while the IRGC navy – IRGCN – is responsible for securing the Persian Gulf and the sea of Oman)
