Iranian Communications Minister Mohammad Hasan Nami admitted that the slower Internet speeds at the time of the presidential elections was due to security considerations. He added that the slower speed and network disruptions during the elections were caused by security arrangements aimed at ensuring calm in the country during the election period. He said that different organizations (including the Communications Ministry) had employed various methods and initiatives to block foreign elements and prevent them from infiltrating Iranian cyberspace to disrupt the elections. He added that today there are no Internet connection problems in Iran.
