Intelsat stops transmission of foreign language channels

Iranian Al-Alam TV reported, “Al-Alam (state-run 24-hour Arabic news channel, targeting Arab audience, officially controlled by Khamenei’s bureau), Al-Kawthar , Press TV, HispanTV, iFilm” are among the Iranian TV channels whose transmission has been stopped on the European IntelSat, EutelSat 8, NileSat orbit and Galaxy 19.” Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Mohammad Hassan Nami, condemned a decision by the Intelsat satellite services provider to block the transmission of Iranian channels. Abbas Araqchi, Foreign Ministry Spokesman, also condemned the move, saying that Iran would seek to resolve the matter through arbitration bodies.
