Possible supply of Russian Antey-2500 instead of S-300

Thursday, 1 August 2013

Iranian Ambassador to Russia, Seyed Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi, said that the issue of the possible supply of Russian Antey-2500 surface-to-air missile systems to Iran instead of (advanced) S-300 surface-to-air missile systems may be considered in the context of Tehran’s lawsuit against Russia. He said, “At the moment, we are negotiating to resolve issues under the lawsuit filed by Iran (with the International Court of Arbitration in Geneva). And this issue may be touched on there… We’re waiting for Russia’s concrete proposals.” Related: Ahmadinejad to attend GECF in Russia; Russia offers Iran new replacement for S-300.
