Tuesday, 20 August 2013

Hossein Ronaghi Maleki has been on a hunger strike since Sunday, August 11, to protest the prison authorities’ lack of attention to his and other sick prisoners’ conditions, and to support Abolfazl Abedini, a prisoner on hunger strike since July 28. Ronaghi was arrested on December 13, 2009, and later sentenced to 15 years in prison for “membership in the Iran Proxy Internet Group,” “propagating against the regime,” “insulting the Supreme Leader,” and “insulting the President.” Maleki’s kidneys were damaged during his interrogations and began failing in prison.
