“Hezbollah will react to a unilateral American attack”

Friday, 30 August 2013

In a commentary headlined “Hezbollah Will React”, political analyst and former ambassador to the OIC Sabah Zangeneh discusses the possibility of US military action in Syria and argues that Hezbollah will react to such an attack. In his perspective, “Hezbollah’s reaction will depend on the nature of the American action. If the Americans act unilaterally without any reason and before the UN investigation delegation to Syria has announced its findings and without a review in the UN Security Council, then it will definitely be faced with the reaction of Hezbollah and other regional countries, the consequences of which will depend on the scale of the military attack.” Zangeneh maintained that “Saudi Arabia’s meddling in the region has increased and its involvement in Syria is a sign of Saudi Arabia’s direct interference in the Syrian developments…There is a group within Saudi Arabia that does not want calm in the region and tries to create more tension in the region.”
