Head of State Audit Court appointed

Amin Hussein Rahimi has been elected the head of the Audit Court, with the majority of votes of the members of Majlis’s Budget and Planning committee. Rahimi is currently serving as the prosecutor of the Audit Court and will succeed Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli, the newly appointed interior minister, after receiving the Majlis’s vote of confidence. The State Audit Court is the Majlis’s “supervisory eye” and responsible for overseeing the government’s budget and expenditure as well as for auditing government organizations. The head and prosecutor of the Audit Court is appointed at the recommendation of the Majlis Budget and Planning Commission and with the approval of the Majlis members.
