Iran postpones launch of Arak IR-40 reactor until end of 2014

ISNA reported that the launch of the Arak heavy-water 40-megawatt research reactor (IR-40) has been postponed presumably until the end of 2014. According to the report, in its letter dated on August 25 2013,Iran informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that “based on the practical progress in construction “, the IR-40 reactor (in Arak) could not be launched in the first three months of 2014 as it was announced in the IAEA report in May.
