In a personal editorial, former Supreme Leader representative in the IRGC Hojatoleslam Mojtaba Zolnour said that the world of diplomacy is by definition a world of flexibility and negotiations. Iranian politicians must be meticulous when implementing the order of the Supreme Leader with regards to heroic flexibility, which was an important order at this time. According to him, as the former Supreme Leader said, diplomacy is a form of warfare in which one uses smiles and nice statements around a table instead of bombs, bullets and missiles. Our diplomats must therefore be cautious since good will does not lie behind every smile. The Supreme Leader also previously warned that the Americans who wear white velvet glove are hiding iron fists underneath them. Our politicians must be careful not to be deceived by their appearance. Our politicians who are conducting negotiations must remember the allegory related by the Supreme Leader of a wrestling ring, demonstrate technical flexibility but paying meticulous attention to the enemy’s tactics and using flexibility in order to overcome the enemy.
