UNGA approves Iran’s nuclear disarmament proposals

The UN General Assembly Disarmament and International Security Committee approved a draft resolution on nuclear disarmament submitted by Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and included three proposals by Hassan Rouhani (presented in the first meeting of the UNGA in New York on September 26th on nuclear disarmament):

  • Holding talks swiftly to conclude an all-inclusive international convention in order to prohibit obtaining, producing, developing, storing and using nuclear weapons, and annihilating these weapons.
  • Holding an international high-ranking conference in 2018 for nuclear disarmament.
  • Naming September 26 as The World Day of Complete Annihilation of Nuclear Arms.
