Iranian embassy in Lebanon targeted by Al Qaeda -23 killed

Lebanon-based Al Qaeda-linked groups, “Kataeb  (Brigades) Abdullah Azzam” claimed responsibility and threatened further attacks unless Iran withdraws forces from Syria.Ghazanfar Roknabadi,Iran’s ambassador toBeirut, identified one of the dead as Ebrahim Ansari, a cultural attaché at the embassy. Head of the embassy security team Radwan Fars was also reportedly killed. Roknabadi blamed the Zionist regime” (Israel) for the explosion.  An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said the bombs were “an inhuman and vicious act perpetrated byIsrael and its terror agents”.
