An editorial by Mosehn Shamsian titled “And a violation of alliances once again” compares the negotiating team with athletes representing Iran in the international arena – all eyes are turned towards them to succeed and bring home a medal to Iran…sometimes they do all they can but fail to beat the rival. Sometimes the rival is “one coming from false, occupying country of Israel” and the Iranian athlete leaves the arena out of respect for his nation’s values. The nuclear talks ended after an intensive round against “bullying, bloodletting rivals” and this, in and of itself, should be appreciated by citizens, regardless of the results. Shortly after the agreement was reached, conflicting statements were heard about its nature! Iran’s Foreign Minister called the achievements good and successful, claiming that Iran’s nuclear rights were protected. On the other hand, John Kerry in less than one hour, called the agreement an American victory that guarantees the security of US allies in the region, particularly Israel, an added that the agreement does not recognize Iran’s right to enrichment! Shansian writes that the negative statements from theUS within several hours of the signing of the agreement proves Khamenei’s statements on the nature of theUS and his definition of theUS as arrogant and a violator of alliances. At the same time, we are witnessing attempts in the media outside of Iran to sow dissension and create a rift in the national unity that has formed (around the nuclear program) that is attributed to incorrect familiarity of the Iranian people. They do not understand that the Iranian people are always unified, both in wartime and in peacetime, and always prefer to obey Khamanei. In this light, the author of the article writes that the way is still long and we must not present the agreement as a victory to citizens in the medial enthusiasm, since this might spark false expectations that might not be completely realized due to the nature of the agreement reached.
