I respectfully inform you that over the past six months, the interrogating officers of my son Seyed Hussein Ronaghi Maleki (blogger and political dissident who was imprisoned after the June 2009 presidential elections for his role in the post-election protests) have denied him much needed medical care… It is clear that my son is in a dire situation and alarming physical condition. The physicians have recommended that he receive immediate medical care and be treated for his maladies. Yet despite this grave situation, he is even barred from his legal right to receive medical leave… Mr. President, I ask that you carry out legal justice and implement the constitutional law. I ask that you prioritize your attention to this important matter, because due to the actions of the interrogators, my son’s life is in danger.
