FM thanks Putin for Russia’s role in Iran nuclear deal

During his meeting with Putin at the Kremlin, Zarif praised the Russian President for his constructive “role in bilateral ties and international peace and security…Our success in Geneva talks owes much to Russia’s efforts; and we insist on collaborating and coordinating with you until we reach a final solution…I convey the warmest greetings of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and President Rouhani to you.” Zarif also praised Russia’s role in “preventing a devastating war in Syria, leading to the destruction of chemical weapons…I assure you that the President (Rouhani) insists on lasting ties between the two states, which will certainly benefit them both and will not harm anyone…I am glad that you have accepted our invitation to Iran, and I hope to see you in Iran as soon as possible”. Regarding the upcoming Geneva conference II on Syria Zarif said “We will take part if we are invited; otherwise we will not attend it”. Zarif arrived in Russia Zarif is in after a Middle Eastern tour which took him to Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan and Syria.
