FM meets with Nasrallah: as long as Lebanon stands strong against Israel, it will be a strong country

Upon his arrival at the Beirut airport, Mohammad Javad Zarif said that friendly and good relations with its sister country Lebanon were important for Iran, and as long as Lebanon remained strong against Israel, it will remain a strong country. Iran is aware of Lebanon’s importance and wishes to tighten relations with it. Zarif announced that an Iranian delegation would soon travel to Beirut to review the information related to the Majad Elmajad affair. Zarif held talks with Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, a meeting attended by  Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi. During his one-day visit to Lebanon, Zarif also met with met Lebanese Prime Minister Tamam Salam, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri and the leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) Ramadan Abdullah Shalah. Zarif visited the tomb of Lebanese Hezbollah Special operation mastermind commander Imad Mughniyeh and the graves of the victims of the Iranian embassy bombing. (Mughniyeh was behind many terror attacks that claimed the lives of dozens of Western soldiers and civilians mostly Americans. He was assassinated in Damascus on February 2008).
