Authorities refusing to approve medical furlough of political activist and member of the Advar-e Tahkim Vahdat

Abdullah Momeni is one of the most prominent political activists to have been arrested and tortured several times due to his activity. The last time, he was sentenced to five years in prison following the post-election events. Momeni suffers from kidney disease and poor medical condition, but told his family that at least until after the elections, he would not be given medical furlough to receive treatment.
