According to a survey published by the PEW Research Center, 42% of people around the world are expressing concern about Iran’s nuclear program, and consider it to be one of the main threats to their country. The survey shows that 54% of US citizens and an average of 56% in Europe view Iran’s nuclear program as a major threat to their country. The survey also revealed that about 85% of Israelis, 51% of Lebanese and 42% of Egyptians are concerned about the nuclear threat Iran poses to their nation. In addition, 70% of Italians, 64% of Greeks, 57% of Germans and 58% of French expressed concerns about Iran’s nuclear program as a threat to their nation. The survey was conducted by the PEW Research Center in 39 countries, with over 37,000 participants. In the survey, respondents were asked to rate the eight major threats to their country from among the following: global climate change, international financial instability, Islamic extremist groups, Iran’s nuclear program, North Korea’s nuclear program, US power and influence, China’s power and influence, and political instability in Pakistan.
