Mahmoud Bahmani, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, who for some time has refrained from appearing before the Majlis and to provide answers to the Majlis members on foreign currency and economic issues, was finally forced to appear on Sunday morning. The official reason for his appearance was review of the report by the Majlis Economic Committee to launch an investigation against the Central Bank. According to initial reports, immediately upon his arrival, Bahmani was surrounded by representatives of the Majlis and was bombarded with questions. It remains unclear whether they will be able to discuss the Economic Committee’s report.
