Majlis: Quds (Jerusalem) Day undermined foundations of the State of Israel and endangered American interests in the region

Wednesday, 31 July 2013

207 Majlis representatives published a statement in honor of Quds Day that begins every year on the last Friday of Ramadan (August 2), in which they stressed, among other things, that the Muslim people of Iran along with other freedom seekers around the world, would reiterate on Quds Day their support of the Palestinian people and would expose “the betrayal of some heads of Arab countries that are allied with the US and the Zionist regime (Israel).” The statement further said that Quds Day is reminiscent of Khomeini’s outcry against the US and “the illegal offspring of the US and Britain, i.e. the bogus Zionist regime (Israel), and that the fortitude and resistance displayed by Hezbollah, Hamas and the Islamic Jihad against the Zionist regime as well as the open support of the Iranian people for the resistance has laid the groundwork for the Islamic Awakening (the Arab Spring) as well as the awakening of the Muslims and freedom seekers against the US and Israel. On the other hand, it has undermined the foundations of this false regime (Israel) and also endangered American interests in the region.” Two hundred foreign reporters will arrive in Iran to cover the Quds Day demonstrations as well as the inauguration of the new president.
