Executions pertain to major drug traffickers; most of the drugs seized in Iran are destined for the US and Europe

Thursday, 25 April 2013

Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, Judiciary Chief, said that “We don’t have political executions in Iran at all, and the executions concern those who have embarked on armed confrontation against the system… Most executions pertain to major drug traffickers, because Iran believes that it is bound to combat death traders from both moral and humanitarian perspectives.” Amoli Larijani said that the US and the European countries accuse Iran of violating human rights by executing drug lords, while most of the drugs seized in Iran are destined for the US and Europe.
