Mehdi Ta’eb, head of Ammar Base and former IRGC security chief, said that the presidential election will go to a runoff, “either two principlist candidates or one principlist and a pro-reform candidate, Hassan Rouhani, will make it to the second round. Ta’eb criticized Rouhani’s statements during the televised presidential debates. He added, “I heard today that Mr. Mashaei (President Ahmadinejad’s controversial aide) called on people to vote for Mr. Rouhani.”
