Senior IRGC advisor: “If the regime wanted to tamper with election results, it could have done so”

Wednesday, 19 June 2013

Mojtaba Zolnur, adviser to Khamenei’s representative to the IRGC, has said that if the establishment had wanted to tamper with the election results, it could have done so by overlooking “two to four votes cast in favor of Hassan Rouhani in each ballot box… bearing in mind Rouhani’s vote difference of 260,000 (above the 50% divide), if two to four votes had not been counted in each ballot box, the election would have gone to a run-off poll and then the result would be different… However, the establishment protects each and every single one of the people’s votes” proving that the June 2009 election were not rigged.
