In a special interview Sunday evening with an Iranian television station, presidential candidate Haddad Adel said that the Iranian people deserve a country that respects them and aligns itself with their position and the sacrifices they have made for the country. There have been successes, but there also have been difficulties. The people want a president who understands their pain and who will offer a practical solution to their problems. Adel later criticized the government’s performance, the frequent turnover of ministers and, among other things, the ousting of the foreign minister while he was meeting with foreign officials, adding that managerial stability is vital to a country. Rational, logical decisions will restore public trust in the government. Adel further stated that talks with citizens revealed that their primary concern was the economy. Citizens are complaining about the high cost of living and inflation. The first move in the economic arena will be to restore stability and calm in the market and to prices. The government’s lack of arrangement under sanctions is intolerable. If there is an economic arrangement in the government, many problems will be resolved. We cannot have economic disarray in a government in a country that is under the pressure of paralyzing sanctions.
